COSMIC SOUND

From 30 September to 10 October at Nômade Temple Ibiza, International Design brings collectible design, contemporary art and music culture into the same space, looking at sound not only as something we hear, but as something shaped by objects, materials and atmosphere.
Cosmic Sound begins with the material side of listening: the objects, surfaces and structures that give sound a physical presence.
Presented by International Design in collaboration with Soleille Gallery, the show brings together DJ consoles, sculptural speakers, sound systems, vinyl furniture and site-specific works. Curated by Valentina Guidi Ottobri with Manfredi Moretti and Gabriela Soleille, it looks at the objects through which sound is produced, carried and experienced — and at the point where engineering begins to meet craft, furniture and sculpture.
THE OBJECTS AROUND SOUND
The selection moves easily between technology and materiality. Jacob Egeberg reimagines the DJ console as an almost geological object, while Jacopo Gonzato’s Paloma, developed with Vismara, pairs high-fidelity acoustics with a distinctly 1970s-inflected form. Arielle Assouline-Lichten’s polished stainless-steel and brass X Deck shifts with the light around it, and YONT Studio gives the console the weight and geometry of Brutalism. Elsewhere, Sara Ricciardi works with suspended golden threads, hydrophones and bells, introducing movement and sound into the exhibition in a more poetic way.
The setting is just as important. Rather than containing the works within a conventional gallery format, Cosmic Soundunfolds across Nômade Temple, moving between interior spaces and terraces. DJ sets, live performances and conversations activate the works throughout the programme, making the exhibition feel closer to a lived environment than a static display.
A SHARED LANGUAGE
For International Design founders Manfredi Moretti and Jules Guérard, the connection between design and music is not a constructed theme. It comes directly from their own backgrounds.
Moretti’s career has moved between collectible design, curating, fashion and music. In 2015, he founded Manfredi Style, an online platform dedicated to art and collectible design, while developing a parallel career as a DJ, producer and promoter.
Guérard’s path has similarly crossed luxury, digital culture and nightlife. For more than a decade, he has worked internationally as a DJ, producer, promoter and curator, with projects spanning London, Paris, Ibiza, Berlin, Tulum and beyond. Music, for him, has long been tied to questions of community, space and experience.
Together, they founded International Design in 2025 as a platform operating between collectible design, contemporary art and culture. Cosmic Sound, its first international exhibition, feels like a natural extension of that idea.
What emerges in Ibiza is less a showcase of audio equipment than a study of how music occupies a space — through furniture, material, architecture and the people gathered around it. In Cosmic Sound, listening becomes something almost tangible.
