10 AMAZING THINGS about
NOMAD Capri
words Onur Baştürk
Founded in 2017 by Giorgio Pace and Nicolas Bellavance-Lecompte, the traveling exhibition format NOMAD took place for the third time at the magnificent Certosa di San Giacomo in Capri. Here are 10 unforgettable things about NOMAD Capri.

1. The limited edition "Faraglioni" collection by Dubai and Milan-based architect, artist and designer collective Etereo Design for Nilufar Gallery.
The "Faraglioni" collection, which includes a centerpiece table, dining table, coffee table and two consoles, is designed to bring the splendor of the sea into the home. The bronze legs of the dining table in the collection are a reference to rock formations. "We create beauty to change the world," say Etereo Design founders Stefania Digregorio and Mirko Sala Tenna, who worked with a Brianza artisan to make the bronze shell perfectly resemble a rock. The glass on the table comes from the best workshops in Venice, the capital of Italian glass art.

2. "Future Relics" by Mexico City-based design and architecture studio ATRA.
The versatile Beluga L-shaped modular sofa, the luxurious Egge chairs upholstered in long-pile alpaca, the elegant Pebble coffee table in white onyx marble and the unique Menaad series lighting reflect ATRA's relationship with nature, technological prosperity, spirituality and the interactions inspired by these themes.

3. The NOMAD Capri Party at the home of Antonino Aiello, founder and CEO of 100% Capri, the brand that has made linen a mainstream luxury fabric and expanded to major continental markets from St. Tropez to St. Barts, Miami to Dubai.
The party continued late into the night, with dancers greeting guests on the white roof of the house. The party in the white house overlooking the Faraglioni cliffs was truly unforgettable.

4. Christian Pellizzari, who has been experimenting with applied art for years in addition to his career as a fashion designer, created lighting designs using Murano glass, marble and iron table lamps...
Pellizzari's main inspiration for the lighting exhibited at Nilufar Gallery is nature and its sudden changes to adapt to climate change.

5. CELO1, the design studio of Costantino Gucci and Edward Raneri, presents a stunning series of mirrors and glass at the Rossana Orlandi Gallery...
Costantino and Edward focus on creating objects and installations that interact with the viewer's perception, often working with reflective surfaces such as glass and mirrors. These materials affect the viewer's reflection in unexpected ways. For example, "Glimpse" is a mirror inspired by cosmic phenomena that suggests the presence of a larger circular form.

6. "Copia Conforme" by Fonderia Nolana, a workshop specialized in the creation of sculptures that combine craftsmanship with advanced technology...
The exhibition of bronze and resin reproductions of artifacts from the National Archaeological Museum of Naples, in particular from the Villa Papiri collection, documents the collaboration between Fonderia Nolana and the Museum for the production of replicas.

7. Project "Capri Perspectives" dedicated to memory and architectural perspectives…
Inspired by the history of Capri, the project includes a table designed by Giuliano Andrea dell'Uva and produced by Forma & Cemento, as well as blue and white brushed ceramic plates on the table.

8. “City of Silence" installation by German artist Wolfgang Laib at the entrance to the Certosa di San Giacomo…
The installation is inspired by both the architecture of medieval Italy and the towers of silence used in ancient Iran for Zoroastrian excarnation rituals. The installation consists of 20 wax sculptures that are also traces of cityscapes, a recurring feature of Laib's visual narrative. It is as if Laib is presenting us with a kind of utopian, ideal city that belongs to everyone, but at the same time belongs to no one.

9. Nuria Mora's hand-painted ceramic sculpture "Totem" on display in the Volumnia and Spazio21 spaces...
Enrica De Micheli's project is the rebirth of a historical and iconic space whose beauty has been hidden for years in the city of Piacenza. Enrica De Micheli, a gallerist with experience in antiques and modern design, presents an exhibition space dedicated to Italian mid-century design in an old Renaissance church in the heart of Piacenza. Founded in 2016 in Reggio Emilia, SpazioC21 is a center for creative projects and a dynamic exhibition space.

10. In the space of the Milanese gallery CARLOCINQUE, the hyper-realistic ceramic works of Bertozzi&Casoni, the recycled works of Roberto Mora...
CARLOCINQUE Gallery, which organizes thematic and multidisciplinary exhibitions, will open a new branch in an elegant 18th century villa in Positano.
