Between the sea and Manama’s skyline, this holiday home sits on the 10th floor of the Four Seasons Private Residences at Bahrain Bay. Qreative Design, founded by architect and interior designer Mohamed Alqari, retained Gensler’s contemporary shell, introducing art, sculptural furniture and walnut joinery.

Rounded seating and curved mirrors echo the movement of water, softening the architecture’s clean lines. Organic rugs define the living and dining areas, while a screen divides the open plan. Gallery-like corridors give artworks room to breathe, with spotlights and a graphic runner guiding the eye. Cream and sandy tones provide a backdrop for accents of turquoise, deep blue, forest green and yellow. Layered curtains and upholstery soften the rooms, while stone and brushed metal add texture.

A COLLECTED WORLD
Furniture, lighting and objects sourced from Italy, France, India, Indonesia, the Netherlands, Portugal and Morocco sit alongside bespoke pieces made in Bahrain. Vintage Wassily chairs from the 1970s, sourced through 1stDibs, share the space with the Lemni chair and Mogg’s pebble-like Matera dining table. Artworks by Jamal Al Yousif and Martin Berger contribute to the home’s personal character. Among the lighting finds is a sculptural floor lamp by James Haywood, sourced during Paris Design Week.
The apartment has the collected intimacy of a boutique hotel, suited to holidays and occasional city stays. Daylight and views keep the richly layered rooms feeling open. “For me, design should feel emotional and inviting rather than overly rigid or purely minimal,” says Alqari.
